As many healthcare professionals know, the Association of Medical
Directors of Information Systems Physician Computer Connection Symposium will
be taking place soon. This year, one of the hot topics of discussion will be
decision support systems in healthcare. This issue is such a “hot topic” that
two entire sessions will be devoted solely to the topic.
A big reason for the heavy discussion of decision support
systems is the fact that many healthcare
professionals are spending a great
deal of money on EMRs, which they are then unable to use to their full benefit.
Some of the discussions at the symposium will likely center
around EMRs and whether they’re worth the time and commitment they require in
order to implement effectively. In short, there will be a discussion on whether
or not these costly measures are actually “worth it” in terms of their payoffs.
Even if you do not intend to attend the symposium, you are
encouraged to look up notes from the symposium if you have questions or
concerns or simply want more information surrounding this issue.
If you are a healthcare clinician, are you using todays new healthcare app for Medical Decision Making, DeductorMD?
