People who work in fields in which they must have a deep
knowledge of decision support systems in healthcare are feeling a little
concerned about the coming change—the change that will end the healthcare
profession’s reliance on ICD-9 and introduce ICD-10.
Many people are scrambling to try and learn the more common
new codes while others just feel like giving up. No matter where you happen to
be in the process, remember that working in decision support systems in
healthcare is important and worthwhile and that making this change is worth it,
even if it’s stressful!
Luckily, information sessions are popping up all over the
nation to help people learn more about ICD-10 and how to use it. Look for
opportunities in your area by checking the internet or asking other
healthcare professionals if they know of any events.
If you are a healthcare clinician, are you using todays new healthcare app, DeductorMD?
