Recently, the two organizations have joined forces to launch a funding project on the fundraising site, Indiegogo. Medical Informatics, Inc. and Health Tech Hatch have labeled their effort as “One Patient, One Number, One Card,” and describe it as a way to create a unified health records database from medical providers around the globe. If successful, the funds raised would be used to create easy identifiers for patients via new technological formats. Patients using the planned service would be able to see their health records whenever they wanted via smart phones, tablets, laptops, and other mobile devices.
